About the Journal

Quarterly ‘Yearbook of the History of Polish Press’ (ISSN 1509-1074, e-ISSN 2084-8552) is an organ of the Press Studies Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) Branch in Krakow, published by the Polish Academy of Sciences and the University of the National Education Commission, Krakow. The periodical is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published four times a year. It publishes original research results in the broad fields of media & social communication studies. The editorial board's primary area of interest is the history of the media (press, radio, television and internet) and the subject of the contexts in which the media have operated. Our journal is also open to scholars of contemporary media. In accordance with the Polish tradition, we take an interdisciplinary view of the essence of the media, hence we also invite scholars whose research centers around mass communication seen from many perspectives (including cultural, social, political, legal, economic, technological and organisational) as well as scholars of media theory to cooperate with us.
