The media image of the book in the Krakow press in the 80s of the twentieth century Part I: Characteristics of the research process

Abstract

The aim of this article is to present the methodology of research on the issues of the book in Krakow dailies in the 1980s. The classified materials were subjected to coding, i.e. a multifaceted description according to, m.in, categories such as: basic description of the parameter or thematization of the text, which allowed to create a map of research on the above-mentioned research issue. In the first phase of the research, selected key phrases were checked: 'publisher*', 'book*', 'book*', 'print*'. As a result of the meta-analysis, it was found that among the respondents, the phrase "książ*" most frequently and qualitatively referred to the main research issue, i.e. the issues of the book discussed in Krakow dailies. In the second phase of the research, the results of content analysis obtained on the basis of the above-mentioned methodology will be presented. Their presentation will be devoted to the next publication (part II).
