This article presents the results of a study of the graphic layout of twelve Polish popular science periodicals published in Warsaw and Cracow in the 18th century. The study compares the characteristic features of their layout and graphic design, identifies their European models, traces the sources of their texts and graphics (figures), and considers their use of various typefaces and special decorative elements to make the scientific content easier to grasp and understand.
