Abstract

This is a survey of post-war critical studies of Polish press published abroad in 1918-1939. The article presents the results of a bibliometric analysis of publications dated 1945-2009. The theme that attracted most attention was the Polish press in Germany (40% of publications and 57% of references). It was followed by the Polish press in the Free City of Gdańsk (11% and 10% respectively), the United States (11% and 7%), France (6% and 5%), the USSR (4% and 6%) and Czechoslovakia (5% and 4%); other countries between them account for 22% of publications and 12% of references.
